Provision of an Equipping Consultancy Service for Phase 2B of the Redevelopment Plan of Great Ormond

Great Ormond Street Hospital for children NHS Foundation Trust appointed an Equipping Consultancy firm for the Phase 2B of the Redevelopment Programme, the Premier Inn Clinical Building due for completion July 2017. The 116 bed building includes a new surgery centre with 2 integrated operating theatres, a respiratory ward and an isolation unit for children with dermatology and rheumatology conditions or infectious diseases. It is anticipated that these much needed facilities will enable the hospital to treat up to 20 per cent more children with the most complex, rare and often life-threatening conditions. They will also allow parents or carers to stay by the child's bedside overnight, provide more room for children to play and eat together and areas for parents to have a break.The construction time scale is expected to be as follows:— March 2015: Date of completion of deconstruction of top floors,— September 2015: Completion of construction of PICB frame and south extension,— November 2016: Completion of fit out of each of the floors,— March 2017: Construction handover,— April-July 2017: Period of commissioning for PICB,— July 2017: Date when patients are expected to commence moves into the PICB.Deliverables:— Tenders/Quotations under OJEU and the Trust Standard Financial Instructions and standard financial limits;— Using existing National Frameworks and conducting minicompetitions, within these framework contracts;— Liaise with Collaborative/Consortium procurement hubs to achieve best value for money, i.e. NHS Supply Chain, Crown Commercial Service, etc.— Negotiate best value for money under the project;— Consolidation of Room Data sheets and the management of the Master Equipping Schedule;— Coordinate transfer package for existing equipment;— Attend and lead equipment user group meeting to finalise both the Transfer and Procurement schedule;— Attend monthly contract meetings' and provide reports as required;— Attend meetings with families, young people and children;— Ensure the timely ordering of agreed range of products adhering to Trust's standardisation Programme and Protocol;— Expedite deliveries and manage the various tiers of the supply chain effectively;— Agree deliveries and receipting of orders based on the Commissioning master plan;— Obtain product samples and assist with trials as required;— Manage budgets and provide reports on request;— Work with Biomedical Engineering Dept. to agree Asset registering and PAT testing of new equipment;— Moves Management — ensure all data sheets, based on the Master Equipping schedule, are displayed in correct locations;— Raise Purchase orders as per the final Master Equipment Schedule;— Invoice management of all receipted goods and services and subsequent update of the Master Equipment Schedule;— Provide additional resource or any other support function that may be necessary to meet the Project completion deadline as requested by the Commissioning Manager;— Provide Project Management resource to coordinate deliveries and possible off-site storage as determined by the Commissioning teams phased Programme of occupation;— Review and update product catalogues for group 2 and 3 equipment;— Identify warranty and maintenance time frames and costs for all equipment;— Update equipment schedule and provide reports as required.
