Provision of Electronic Donation Collection terminals
Descriptions
The CWGC and CWGF operate a Visitors Centre in Arras, France and a smaller Information Centre in Ieper, Belgium. Each of these centres are visited are visited by many hundreds of people daily, not just physical visitors but in the case of the Information Centre in Ieper, many hundreds pass by the on their way to and from the Last Post Ceremony at the nearby Menin Gate. In addition we have a building at the Military Cemetery in Brookwood, Surrey which is also visited those who go to the Cemetery. As well as the fixed sites, the CWGF also organise a number of events at local sites both in the UK and Europe to commemorate important milestones to raise awareness of our work The CWGF currently uses cash donation boxes in the Visitors Centre in Arras and at our Brookwood Cemetery in the UK. These are reactive donation points with limited signage, are insecure and labour intensive to maintain, empty, record and cash the donations. In addition, with the move away from cash we feel that the current collection boxes are not maximising the opportunities for the public to make donations to help our work We would therefore like to introduce contactless donation solutions to replace the current cash collection methods which we believe will increase in donations by • Make donating much easier for people through contactless options and opportunities • Allowing for more donation terminals and opportunities positioned in more visible locations with better messaging.
