Provision of Qualitative Research Study to Examine the Workplace Experiences of Parents Dealing with Pregnancy Loss

Descriptions

On 18 May 2021, the Government committed to undertake research to examine the needs of employees bereaved by pregnancy loss with respect to statutory leave provisions and workplace policies. The purpose of this research is to ascertain whether workplace policy interventions are required to support employees coping with pregnancy loss. The primary focus will be on parents who have experienced a pregnancy loss prior to 24 weeks’ gestation, as parents who suffer pregnancy loss after 24 weeks’ gestation can avail of the full maternity leave and paternity leave entitlements.A thorough understanding of the workplace experiences of parents coping with pregnancy loss is required in order to establish whether policy interventions are required.Further details can be found in the RFT document.
