Provision of Security Equipment for Birmingham Airport
Descriptions
Birmingham Airport is required to comply with the C3 standard of baggage screening and is seeking, at the same time, to expand the Central Search Area (CSA) at the Airport to cope with increased passenger growth. The building works that are to take place will enable the Airport to expand its security lane lengths to a maximum of 28 metres and to increase passenger throughput to in excess of 3 400 per hour. The Airport is seeking to procure a framework to supply, install and maintain security equipment to satisfy the requirements of the C3 standard and to deliver the required level of passenger throughput. This range of equipment will include:— security lanes with C3 scanners and tray return systems,— matrix screening,— body scanners,— explosive threat detection machines,— liquid testing machines,— shoe scanning machines,— other complementary items of equipment.
