PURCON1071 Seawater pH Spectrophotometer
Descriptions
The University of East Anglia is looking to acquire a seawater pH spectrophotometer for the purpose of accurately measuring seawater pH in discrete seawater samples. The analyser will be used for calibration of pH sensors deployed on marine autonomous robotic vehicles (gliders), floats, moorings and ships, as well as for accurate analysis of pH in seawater samples and in samples from incubation, chemostat and sea ice chamber experiments. The instrument will be operated in a laboratory at UEA and in a laboratory on a ship. The pH analyser should provide highly accurate seawater pH measurements on the total hydrogen pH scale for a range of salinities. Principles of seawater pH, its measurement and suitable Certified Reference Material are described in Dickson et al. (2007) and Dickson (2011
