QU800 - Arts and Culture Seldom Heard Voices Focus groups

The Council requires a supplier for the provision of focus groups to support the creation of a statement of intent for a Bold Creative Birmingham. For each focus group, providers will be required to: o recruit participants and ensure that the setting for the focus group/s is a safe and psychologically informed environment which considers the needs of the group members. o ensure participants complete consent forms for participation including audio recordings. Consent for photography/film is optional. o capture and gain a greater understanding of the views of citizens about arts and culture in Birmingham to inform the Statement of Intent. o capture specific quotes from participants in relation to specific themes, ambitions or key actions that the Council may use in future reports, including the Statement and subsequent Strategy. o conduct conversations in person or digitally if clear justification for need to digital methods is given. Target Groups (one focus group per target group, 13 target groups in total) a. Ethnic Communities i. South Asian Communities ii. African and Caribbean Communities iii. Chinese, Korean & Vietnamese Communities iv. Central & Eastern European Communities b. Carers c. Adults with learning disabilities d. Adults with sensory impairments e. Adults with physical impairment f. Young Men aged <25yrs g. Young Women aged <25yrs h. Adults over 65yrs i. Adults over 80yrs j. Lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people k. People not in Employment l. Faith Communities i. Muslim ii. Sikh iii. Hindu iv. Christian v. Jewish m. Communities of place (localities) i. North Birmingham ii. East Birmingham iii. West Birmingham iv. Central Birmingham v. South Birmingham The anticipated start of the contract is July 2022. The deadline for the final report and end of the contract is 12th August 2022.
