RBBC - ITQ - Funeral Director Services for Public Health Funerals
Descriptions
The Council is seeking to contract one Service Provider who will deliver funeral director services for all public health funerals organised and paid for by the Council. The term 'public health funeral' relates to the responsibility placed on the Council by section 46 of the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984, to make funeral arrangements for anybody who dies within their boundary where no other arrangements are being or are likely to be made, e.g. when the deceased has no family and they have not left a will. Public health funerals do not include responsibility for the funeral arrangements of persons dying while in hospital with no next of kin.
