Repair, Restoration and Reinstatement of two Grade 2 listed HeadGear Frames

Descriptions

Welsh Government wish to appoint a suitably experienced contractor to implement a scheme of works to renovate and reassemble the two Grade 2 Listed headgear frames at the Cefn Coed Colliery Museum site, near Neath. The structures were constructed in the mid-1920s, to allow miners and coal to be lifted from the 700m deep shafts. In 2016 both headgear frames were dismantled, primarily on safety ground but also to enable the renovation works necessary to take place from more favourable ground level access. The renovation works are currently being finalised to allow discharge of relevant Listed Building Consent conditions.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process.
