Contractors are invited to tender for the proposed works:1.The removal of existing slate (Asbestos containing materials) from existing pitched roof and the subsequent upgrade of these roof surfaces generally,2.The removal of existing soffit board (Asbestos containing materials – AMOSITE) from existing school building and replacement with plywood backing board / uPVC soffit finish,3.The removal of existing vinyl floor tiles (Asbestos containing materials) within the general purpose area, main entrance hall and adjacent kitchen area and installation of new vinyl floor covering including DPM and levelling compound.Asbestos containing slates, Asbestos containing soffit board and Asbestos containing vinyl floor tiles to be removed, transported and disposed of in line with all relevant statutory provisions. The Asbestos containing materials, and any contaminated materials shall be clearly identified and removed to an authorised disposal site, and the areas from which it has been removed shall be thoroughly cleaned, washed and vacuumed with equipment which complies with BS 5415 type H, to ensure the thorough removal of all residual asbestos containing materials. Risk assessing and setting up the site which prevents exposure of non-site personnel to hazards associated with Asbestos containing slate, Asbestos containing soffit board and Asbestos containing vinyl floor tile removals will form a critical part of this contract. Develop and implement site-specific methods of removing all Asbestos containing materials in a manner which meets with the approval of the appointed safety consultant. The works include scaffolding and hoarding; careful removal and disposal of existing rainwater goods; repair/strengthening of existing timbers where necessary; install new slate finishes, including new breathable felt membrane, battens and associated flashings; install new fascia and soffit and rainwater goods including all connections to existing drainage; act as PSCS.
