LIT's requirement includes:- The purchase and installation of RFID self-service kiosks at Moylish Park, LSAD (Clare St.) and Thurles campuses.- The purchase and upgrade of security / detection gates at all 3 sites to RFID standard- The acquisition of RFID Library Staff Workstations for each library- The upgrade of library items (books and media) tagging system at the 3 libraries from current electromagnetic tags to RFID tagsThe successful supplier must supply LIT Library Service with the necessary staff hardware / plug-ins as well as the RFID conversion software. All systems acquired should include reporting software for transaction analysis.The RFID system adopted must work seamlessly with LIT’s current Library Management System (LMS) Koha and be sufficiently adaptable to work with any new LMS that might be acquired by LIT library in the future.The cost outlined for these systems should include delivery, installation, warranty and training. In addition, the cost of the annual maintenance fee should be provided.
