Sligo City is one of the largest urban centres in the North-West, serving as an administrative, employment, commercial, health and education centre for a significant hinterland. It has been designated as a Regional Growth Centre in the National Planning Framework and the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy for the NWRA area. Sligo County Council now intends to prepare a Local Area Plan for Sligo City and its environs. The LAP will cover the period 2021-2031 and shall set out detailed planning policies for an area where significant growth and change is anticipated. As part of this process, Sligo County Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified multidisciplinary consultancies with expertise in the areas of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA), and Appropriate Assessment (AA). These assessments are required as an integral part of the preparation of the Sligo City Local Area Plan 2021-2031. Prospective tenderers should be able to demonstrate their expertise in all three fields (i.e. SEA, SFRA and AA) as the contract will not be awarded in separate lots.
