Smarter Working Project: Internal Adaptations at Council HQ

The purpose of this speculative notice is to inform suppliers of the Authority's intention to go out to tender for a contractor to complete internal adaptation works at the Authority's HQ as part of the 'Smarter Working' Project.DescriptionThe Smarter Working Project forms part of the Council’s strategy to introduce efficiencies into the operation of the services it provides from the Main Council Building in Llangefni and to improve the energy efficiency of the building. The main components of this contract are as follows:•Re arrangement of the main reception to enable staff to deal with customers at the entrance to the building and remove the need for the public to circulate within the main building itself. This includes introduction of Interview Rooms, relocated reception desk, self-service pc’s and access control barriers.•Re arrangement of office spaces to provide a better working layout. This mainly comprises the removal of demountable partitions and erection of new partitions (traditional stud wall construction), along with associated alteration of electrical and data installations affected by the work.•The removal of the staff café and associated catering installation on the first floor and replacement with a multi-purpose space and staff showering facilities.•The upgrading of lighting fittings throughout the building to energy efficient LED fittings.Due to the need to carry out the work in a sequence that will enable the Council to maintain its day to day services it is necessary to carry out the work in 9 separate sections that define the sequence and timing for each part of the project. The cost of this project is likely to be + £500kThe authority intends to hold a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event to allow main contractors to come and see plans, drawings and take a tour of the building. The event will be held on the 18th of January at 10.00 a.m at the Council Offices, Llangefni, LL77 7TW.To register your place at the event please email cfxfi@ynysmon.gov.uk to register your place. Places will be reserved for main contractors who have the capacity, capability, experience to deliver this type of project.
