St Josephs School Cockermouth Phase 2 SEND additional School Places
Descriptions
St Josephs Campus is part of Mayfield School based in West Cumbria and caters for post 16 students with Special Educational Needs. The original school building was completed and opened in 1966 and built as an infant school but was extended and adapted in 2022 to suit the new users. There are two operational temporary classrooms on the existing hard play area which will be removed by others following the completion of Phase 2 development. Phase 2, which is the new extension, should be designed Building Bulletin 104 guidelines to accommodate an increasing number of pupils. The Proposals are based on using off-site construction methods, with the aim of minimising operations on site and disruption to the school. Whilst it is expected this would be modular construction other forms of off-site construction such as timber frame could be considered.
