Port of Sheerness Limited is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified contractor or contractors to undertake works associated with the redevelopment of the former Thames Steel Steelworks Site.The works associated with the redevelopment have been separated into the following individual lots:Lot 1 — Demolition and Disposal works of numerous structures within the 53 acre site (initial estimated cost of works 1 000 000 GBP - 3 000 000 000 GBP)Lot 2 — Remediation works — on site remediation of contaminated land to include the infill of the former Thames Steel Steelworks cooling ponds (initial estimated cost of works 3 000 000 GBP - 7 000 000 GBP)Lot 3 — Civils and Groundworks — Creation of approximately 32 acres of car parking spaces and related services (initial estimated cost of works 4 000 000 GBP - 8 000 000 GBP)Lot 4 — Warehousing — Refurbishment and/or construction of approximately 250 sq. ft of warehousing and storage facilities (initial estimated cost of works 9 000 000 GBP - 13 000 000 GBP)Lot 5 — Rail Transport Works — Reconfiguration and upgrade of existing railhead infrastructure (initial estimated cost of works 3 000 000 GBP - 6 000 000 GBP)It is anticipated that all the works within each lot will be awarded on a design and build basis using NEC 3 suite of contracts.Peel Ports reserves the right to combine any combination of the above Lots into larger work packages depending on the responses received to this OJEU notice. Peel Ports also reserves the right to make no award as a result of this procurement process, or to award Lots in part or in whole.
