Stotfold Town Council Street Light Maintenance Contract 2023-2026

Stotfold is a medium sized town in the North East of Bedfordshire. It has seen recent expansion, with several new housing developments completed, and a further large development to start within the coming year. Our unitary authority, Central Bedfordshire Council owns and operates the majority of street lighting within the town, however Stotfold Town Council owns 260 lanterns in various locations. Some of which are the old vintage style columns. The council has undertaken a programme of maintenance and replacement when necessary. As lanterns require replacing, we are undertaking a process of updating them with more cost-effective versions. When new housing developments are complete, some developers and Central Bedfordshire Council ask us to adopt street lighting within that development and so the number of lanterns we own may increase. We also establish new areas which require street lighting and provide our own lighting columns. Stotfold Town Council's Street Lighting Maintenance Contract is due for renewal on 1st April 2023. The contract will run for a period of 3 years, ending 31st March 2026. Interested persons are invited to tender for the contract, full details of which can be found in the following documents: Invitation to Tender, Specification of Works, Form of Tender, Street Lighting Policy, Inventory of Street Lights. Closing date for receipt of tenders is Monday 13th February 2023, 12noon. Tender submissions must be posted or hand-delivered, in the format and manor as detailed in the Invitation to Tender document, addressed to The Town Clerk, Stotfold Town Council, Greenacre Centre, Valerian Way, Stotfold, Hitchin, Herts, SG5 4HG. Electronic versions, by email or memory stick, would also be beneficial as supporting the submission.
