Substation Transformer Replacement and HV Infrastructure Upgrade

Harrogate Borough Council (HBC) is seeking to employ a specialist High Voltage (HV) Installation company to design, supply, install, configure, test and commission a replacement HV network at the Harrogate International Centre (HIC). The project is intended to provide two key objectives: 1) Reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions through the use of high efficiency amorphous core transformers and adjusting the tap settings down while still complying with the electricity supply regulations for final circuit terminal voltage and associated voltage drop throughout the system. 2) Improve the network resilience by removing old obsolete equipment wired on a radial circuit methodology with new equipment wired in a ring main configuration.
