Descriptions
The NHS Blood and Transplant, Welsh and Scottish Blood Services wish to procure a supply of blood grouping reagents which meets or exceeds our specification (which includes the UK guidelines).Designated laboratories will assure compliance with the UK Guidelines on a batch by batch basis and acceptable batches will be required to be reserved for the different Blood Services use. The full and pro-active cooperation of the supplier(s) to enable this validation is essential.These contracted reagents will be used by Donor Testing and Red Cell Immunohaematology laboratories of NHSBT, Scotland and Wales.NHSBT, SNBTS and WBS use a variety of technologies currently in Donor Testing departments and RCI laboratories and the antisera should be compatible as relevant.
