Descriptions
1. Principal Contractor and welfare provision (Octavius Infrastructure Limited)
2. Clearance of nearside and offside overburden and minimal vegetation clearance where required only
(Octavius Infrastructure Limited).
3. Resurfacing as per design and specification, including various inlay depths and 0.5m inlay into
hardshoulder where it drains to nearside and to edge of carriageway where drains to offside for road
safety audit purposes (Breedon Colas JV)
4. Installation of road markings and studs. Works to include replacing surface mounted studs with milled in
studs from a previous scheme as indicated on drawings (Premier Roadmarkings Limited).
5. Provision of traffic management including equipment for protection of overhead structures and
powerlines, pedestrian management and diversion signage (H W Martin).
6. Installation of detector loops and commissioning (Mason Street Furniture)
7. Pegging and marking for sign works (Mason Street Furniture)
8. Remove redundant post in front of sign, remove existing sign and posts and install 1nr traffic sign as per
design. Traffic sign to be installed outside the working width of existing barrier. Traffic sign on offside to
be removed is illuminated. Octavius to liaise with NH for handover to disconnect (Octavius
Infrastructure Limited)
9. Bridge joints to be replaced as following (VolkerLaser):
- Little Stanney Bridge - 2nr full depth APJ replacement. The asbestos survey shows north joint
depth of 95mm and south joint depth of 105mm. PC to inspect the joints when planed off surface
course and see if can confirm that they are definitely APJs. If no APJ is evident seek advice and
determine way forward.
- Shropshire Union Canal - 2nr top off APJ only
- Stoak A (M56 MP 56/1) - no works required at mechanical joint but check condition on site of
nosing material following resurfacing works. 1nr full depth APJ replacement as joint is leaking
when viewed from underneath structure. When replacing this joint make sure it is installed in
correct alignment and not skewed like the current crack seal.
10. All gullies, side entry kerbs, drainage channels etc within scheme extents need to be checked and
cleared upon completion of the works to ensure that there are no obstructions/blockages (Octavius and
Breedon Colas)
