Descriptions
The purpose of this tender is to evaluate and quantify the societal and economic impact of NERC funded research. In particular, NERC wishes to focus this evaluation on the impact it delivers via increasing the effectiveness of public services and policy. As such, the evaluation will focus on: the benefits that research provides to the UK public sector, through increased effectiveness of public services. the benefits to UK companies through smart policies and regulations. International impacts can also be part of the evaluation, in so far as it is possible to quantify their benefits to the UK. The output is expected to provide estimates of the benefits accruing from NERC funded research. These estimates will allow NERC to produce cost benefit analyses of the investment in research and, where possible, return on investment figures. The subject of this evaluation will be the evidence provided by NERC, formed of impact case studies relevant to certain areas. The evaluation should use this evidence and, where the impact case studies already contain evaluations, it should build upon them.
