Velodrome Track Resurfacing

Descriptions

This notice is to direct award for the Velodrome Track Resurfacing. Following 20+ years of extensive usage the track has begun to show signs of its age because of daily usage by local recreational through to elite cyclists and high-level racing. As a result, around 50 meters squared of boards require replacement which would be accompanied by a full track surface sanding which would restore surface integrity and prolong the overall life of the track by a further 15 – 20 years under normal public / national team usage.

Resurfacing of the timber track would also include the repainting of all UCI required lines and numbers on the track. In addition to the remedial track surface work wider infrastructure work would be undertaken to improve the aesthetics and standards of the safety zone and inner arena spaces which would greatly enhance the experience to rider and spectator alike. The proposed work would greatly lengthen the lifespan of the asset whilst maintaining its integrity as a fast and high-quality track.
