WCC Market Testing - Healthy Lifestyle Services
Descriptions
Warwickshire County Council (WCC) currently commissions an Integrated Lifestyle Service, known as Fitter Futures Warwickshire. The integrated service provides behaviour change and screening interventions via NHS Health Checks, physical activity on referral, adult weight management and stop smoking services across the county. The service is designed to encourage and support residents to lead healthier lifestyles, prevent ill health such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity and reduce health inequalities, Following a service review of the Integrated Lifestyle Service, Public Health have started to explore options for the future of the healthy lifestyle services. The Council needs to ensure future delivery enables resource to best meet the health needs of the Warwickshire population, reduces health inequalities and aligns with the Council's strategic objectives. We are seeking to understand the market's views to assist in informing the decision-making process. We would value your engagement with this process to inform the suitability of options. The purpose of the market testing exercise is to gather insight and feedback from interested providers to help inform healthy lifestyle services in Warwickshire. The market testing will inform the understanding of the potential of the local market to provide the required support offer and to explore innovative ways of delivering the support services to improve the physical health of Warwickshire residents. Your participation will also contribute ideas as to how the current services may be improved. Additionally, this provides the opportunity for organisations that may only be able to provide aspects of the service to demonstrate their capabilities or interest in delivering parts of the service. Providers can choose to respond with a focus on areas they are interested in delivering. Key areas we are exploring as part of this market engagement are as follows: How can services be best commissioned to improve the service user's journey and experience in accessing lifestyle services easily? How can services be delivered to enable a collaborative response to a service user's lifestyle needs? This includes service users with multiple risky healthy behaviours. How can services be delivered to support statutory NHS Health Check provision, to include data integration and follow-up with primary care? How can services adopt a universal proportionalism and/or targeted approach to manage the budget and reduce health inequalities?
