Descriptions
It is proposed to restore an area of actively eroding blanket bog on Winterhope Farm in the Scottish Borders. The site is part of Wemyss & March estate and will be Phase 5 of a multi- phased project carried out on the estate. The work will involve a mixture of peat hag re-profiling (13,810 m) and construction of peat or mineral soil baffles to deflect water away from the base of re-profiled peat hags. 625 metres of ditches will also require blocking with peat dams.
