Worsley Building Refurbishment of Levels 10, 9 and Associated Communal areas.
Descriptions
The University of Leeds requires a Main Contractor to design, procure, construct, commission and handover the refurbishment of Levels 10, 9, communal areas of Level 8, 3 staircases and other limited communal areas on Levels 7 and 4.The proposed scheme consists of approximately 6 000m2 GIA (Levels 10 and 9) within the Worsley building which was constructed in the mid 1970s.The Building located on the fringe of the main University Campus adjacent to the Clarendon wing of Leeds General Infirmary. The works to Levels 10 and 9 will provide a mixture or new teaching and academic offices for the relocated Leeds Institute of Health Sciences and Leeds Institute of Clinical Trials and Research as well as offices for the Faculty of Medicine. In addition Central Teaching space will be provided for the Faculties of Medicine and Biological Sciences.We anticipate a start on site in late August 2015, preceded with a 6 week mobilisation period from July 2015. A 12 month construction period has been allocated to achieve a completion date of September 2016.
