The Welsh Government is seeking to engage with quality providers to deliver the Youth Entrepreneurship Services and meet the Department for Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science (BETS) key priorities of the YES Action Plan 2010-15. The aim of the Youth Entrepreneurship Services is to work directly with young people under 25 in Wales and with partners in Schools (Primary and Secondary); Colleges, Universities, youth and community groups to encourage entrepreneurship. The Youth Entrepreneurship services will deliver services against the three core themes of the YES Action plan:Engage - Dynamo Role Model Project: Raising awareness and aspiration through inspirational workshops and signposting to Big Ideas Wales. The recruitment and training of business owners to promote and encourage entrepreneurship through the dynamo role model project. Empowering - Practical Experiences: Provide practical experiences through a new Primary Competition and Global Entrepreneurship Challenge (GEC).Equipping - Big Ideas Wales: Identifying and nurturing young people on their journey towards business start up; through the delivery of the Big Ideas Wales campaign to promote entrepreneurship and a series of workshops and events to engage young people. Introducing a flagship 16-24 challenge, to encourage and support future young entrepreneurs, including shadowing opportunities.The contract will be offered in 2 Lots, each lot delivering on a pan Wales basis.Lot 1: Youth Entrepreneurship in SchoolsLot 2: Youth Entrepreneurship 16-24 (excluding Schools)The ability to deliver/facilitate support through the medium of Welsh is a mandatory requirement for this tender.The Youth Entrepreneurship Services contract is about encouraging and nurturing future entrepreneurs. This is not a business start up programme. The service provider will be required to work with the Welsh Government’s Start up Support service to aide an appropriate transition to start up and develop suitable solutions that complement, not duplicate this provision.Full details of the service specification are available in the draft tender document.
