Ballyhoura Development is seeking to enter into a contract with a competent experienced person or organisation that will work collaboratively with young people, the BD programme team, local youth organisations and youth and associated service providers to foster and support the personal development of young people, particularly young people who are not in education, employment or training. The purpose of the contract will be to support young people presenting with complex needs, using counseling and coaching methodologies, so that clients are better equipped to cope with emerging realities in their daily lives. The YSLA will be required to have knowledge of local supports and information and will be familiar with local referral mechanisms to appropriate, targeted supports designed to support clients to achieve their short and longer term goals. The YSLA will collaborate with Ballyhoura Development and existing support organisations to identify practical measures to emerging needs such as harm reduction programmes, personal health and wellness, domestic violence or addiction programmes and support referral to existing supports and services. The objective of the contract is to provide practical, tangible supports which will enable the client to access information which they may or may not choose to use, in response to emerging needs, rather than reactively. The contractor should have a psychotherapeutic skillset and experience of working with and supporting young people.
