ET22_006_TSC - Transport of Shell Cultch

A requirement exists for the transport of 500 tonnes of queen scallop shell cultch from a designated storage area located to the north of Lisahalley port 1.2km away. The storage area is located at 55.036291, -7.256648. The shell will need to be loaded from the storage area to the vessel supplied by the Loughs Agency and therefore appropriate plant machinery will need to be provided for this purpose. The shell is currently being quarantined for biosecurity purposes in a storage area near the Port. The works will be carried out over a maximum of 2 days. The shell cultch is being used to conduct habitat enhancement works on native oyster beds by distributing shell cultch on the beds located in Lough Foyle.Tenders are invited on the basis of their ability to undertake the planned work as outlined in the specifications. This comprises of transporting the shell from the storage area to the Lisahally port side and loading it onto the vessel provided. The work will be carried out over a 12 hour period in a day and will last for a maximum of 2 daysDetailed information of the track and work plan will be provided by Loughs Agency. The successful applicant will be selected based on technical suitability and cost of charter.
