22 24 - Evidence-based research and draft guidelines on good practice in terms of the appropriateness of location (planning), scale and design of Traveller-specific accommodation.

Descriptions

This research is being undertaken on behalf of the Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH). The purpose of the research is to provide evidence-based research and draft guidelines on good practice in terms of the appropriateness of location (planning), scale and design of Traveller-specific accommodation. Traveller-specific accommodation in this research refers to Group Housing Schemes, Halting Site accommodation and hybrid models with both housing and halting bays. It is anticipated that the DHLGH will use the results of this research to support the development of good practice guidance for local authorities and approved housing bodies to support the development of Traveller-specific accommodation. This work will build on work previously undertaken by the Centre for Housing Research on Traveller-Specific Accommodation: Practice, Design and Management. The Minister of State has requested The Housing Agency to procure, project manage and deliver a resulting report.
