Awareness Campaign video concept and production services

Descriptions

About WebwiseThe Webwise initiative of the Professional Development Support Service for Teachers (PDST) acts as the awareness centre of the Safer Internet Ireland project. The Department of Education has been supporting the Webwise internet safety initiative since 2006. In this time we have seen how integral new technologies have become to the lives of young people and how important it is that we educate ourselves about the benefits and dangers they bring. In relation to the internet we promote a shared culture of responsibility with families, schools, industry, government and others in the community all playing their part to reduce the risks of potential harm. The project is co-funded by the Department of Education and Skills and the EU Connecting Europe Facility.Campaign Context:1 in 3 children around the world experience bullying. Cyberbullying continues to be the number 1 issue that is dealt with by Safer Internet Centres across Europe, it is the most prevalent issue highlighted by Irish teenagers we work with, and is an ongoing topic of discussion in the Oireachtas. Cyberbullying can have very serious negative consequences for those involved, and it is an issue that as a society we are still struggling to deal with. We are looking for a fresh and innovative perspective to address how young people communicate and connect online. We want an inspiring and powerful campaign which takes a different approach to engaging teenagers with the issue of abusive online behaviour. What is it?We want to develop a campaign with three short films to raise awareness of the complex issue of cyberbullying, reflecting common experiences of young people, highlighting the different roles involved in incidents and consider the at-risk groups. The campaign should provoke the audience to consider their own behaviour and attitudes and help create more inclusive, tolerant communities on and offline.
