Arch Development Projects Ltd ("Arch") is seeking to appoint a Principal Contractor to work with Arch to deliver the design and construction of Bedlington Town Centre ("the scheme"). The scheme is a retail led investment by Arch to help regenerate a prime town centre site, which has been vacant for a number of years. The principal contractor will be tasked to take the Scheme from stage 5 to Stage 7, in accordance with RIBA Plan of Works 2013. The scheme consists of, but is not limited to, design and new build construction of 12 retail units totalling c.55,000ft² with residential units above totalling c.6,000ft², earthworks, retaining structures, demolition of existing buildings on Market Place, grouting to an old mining adit, primary utility infrastructure (diversions and connections), highways, car parking and landscaping on a site of approximately 3.7 acres located in Bedlington, Northumberland. The latest masterplan drawing and elevations are included in Appendix B in order to give potential tenderers an understanding of the project. The contract is to be let on a Design and Build basis using the JCT 2016 Design and Build contract with Arch amendments.
