Gloucestershire NHS Procurement Shared Service, on behalf of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, wishes to let a contract for the sponsorship of Stoma Care Nurses at each of its main hospital sites.The Foundation Trust operates from two major acute hospital sites based at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital Great Western Road Gloucester GL1 3NN and Cheltenham General Hospital Cheltenham Gloucestershire GL53 7AN.BackgroundThe Trust currently receives sponsorship for one full-time (37.5 hours per week) Specialist Stoma Care Nurse and six part-time (30 hours per week x 4 and 22.5 per week x2) Specialist Stoma Care Nurses. The Trust also receives sponsorship for one full time secretary (37.5hours per week)Staff are based at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General HospitalThe Trust employs a total of 5.4 whole time equivalents Nursing Staff (7 Staff, 1.0 WTE band 8,0.8 WTE band 7, 3.8 WTE band 6) Plus 1.0 WTE clerical support (band 4)across both main Hospital sites. These staff work in conjunction with 7 designated colorectal surgeons to deliver a quality Stoma Care Service.The staff also give full community support in Gloucestershire and operate outpatient clinics at Cirencester, Lydney, Morton in the Marsh, Stroud, Tewkesbury and the Vale. The Trust reserves the right for other NHS organisations within Gloucestershire to purchase consumables as part of this contract.Current Case Load1164 to 1281 contacts per month across site and community24 to 26 new stomas per month across site3161 current patients across county of GloucestershireAdditional considerationWhilst the current sponsorship allows both community and acute Trust coverage, ideally, to support reductions in consumable costs, interested parties would be requested to show preferential terms with regard to consumable costs.
