NHS Isle of Wight (IOW) Clinical Commissioning Group (host) and Isle of Wight NHS Trust, invite interested parties to tender for a contract to provide sponsorship for the continuation and future development of an IOW based Stoma Service. Trust employed Clinical Nurse Specialists, who are based at St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight, care for both acute and community patients. The acute/community driven service provides assessment, support, advice and information to patients and their carers/family who are to undergo surgery which may or may not result in stoma formation. They further deliver nursing care tailored to the needs of the individual and facilitate a seamless transition between secondary and primary care in patients’ homes and clinics. They ensure on going support and continuity of care for both new service users and those established service users who require assessment and review.
