Improve, the Sector Skills Council for the food and drink industry, are managing a Welsh Government project funded by the Sector Leadership Fund.The project provides funding support for key personnel in Welsh food and drink businesses to undergo Leadership and Management training.Targeted at staff in positions of leadership or those progressing to senior roles, the project aims to equip personnel and therefore businesses with the skills required to prosper and grow.Training interventions are to be bite-sized, bespoke and contextualised to the needs of the learner and the business. Ranging from Level 4 to Level 7, training will result in qualifications or accredited units of learning being achieved where possible, but may also include more creative training solutions.Improve’s Sector Leadership Fund Project will support over £300,000 worth of training in the sector, comprising 70% funding for SME’s and 50% funding for large organisations.The footprint of this project covers food and drink manufacturing businesses, food and drink wholesalers, and those concerned with food and drink manufacturing within a retail setting.Improve would like to invite expressions of interest from Training Providers who would like to deliver funded training activity under this project.
