Low Cost Water Sensor
Descriptions
Severn Trent wishes to identify alternative ‘Low Cost’ sensor technologies to mechanical meters across the clean water network that have the capability to store and transmit the right data to enable Leakage and PCC targets to be achieved during AMP 7. Traditional sensor equipment is too expensive for an extensive wide spread deployment across the company. This product requirements document details the requirements for a low-cost sensor, which offers the opportunity for widespread deployment across the network, improving clean water network ‘visibility’. When linked with analytics, this could provide the basis for managing risks of leakage or unauthorised usage, allowing early intervention by operational staff and/or contractors. Innovative and interesting solutions are encouraged.
