Mental Health Community Inclusion and Recovery Services
Descriptions
THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION. THIS IS A SOFT MARKET TEST.
We are looking for a solution that will focus on meeting the needs of those with severe and enduring mental health needs, particularly those in receipt of adult social care support. The service will prevent escalation of need, support people to maintain their independence and promote recovery. This would primarily be achieved through:
Peer support groups - We recently received feedback from those with severe and enduring needs that groups work best when they are tailored to their level of need, rather than delivered in mixed groups that include those with lower levels of need (e.g. general anxiety/depression). Groups may provide structured activities or discussions inline with the needs and preferences of their members. These groups will provide people with a place to share experiences, learn new coping/recovery strategies. It will also provide a means to engage in the community following a stay in hospital for example. Group opportunities should be well promoted and actively promoted in social care and secondary mental health settings.
Light touch information advice and guidance. We have heard from people with severe and enduring needs that knowing where to go for support is overwhelming. Alongside peer support groups, it would be ideal if knowledgeable facilitators could offer light-touch information, advice and guidance in response to emerging needs. This may include making the correct onward referrals.
