NHS Kirklees CCG: Spirometry Service - Market Test
Descriptions
NHS Kirklees CCG is seeking to commission additional capacity to address the Spirometry backlog between November 2021 and March 2022. This is due to the implications of pausing Spirometry tests due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The focus of the test will be to confirm Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) diagnosis. It is expected that the provider will carry out baseline and post bronchodilator Spirometry. The activity of this interim contract is based on backlog of circa 3000 Spirometry tests for diagnosis. Providers must demonstrate their service is delivered in line with National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidance and the workforce who delivers the service are suitably qualified and competent in undertaking and interpreting Spirometry. The CCG would welcome responses from providers who can demonstrate how they can engage with primary care to ensure Spirometry provision can be easily accessed and deliver a seamless pathway for patients. Providers will: •Work with partners to ensure referrals are appropriate. •Offer a combination of available options giving choice to meet the needs of the individual and make reasonable adjustments for patients with protected characteristics. •Offer a range of alternative venues across north and south Kirklees. The Provider(s) will ensure •They are CQC registered •Robust data recording and reporting is in place to ensure quality assurance and delivery of the service Please note NHS Calderdale CCG may join the service at a future date during the lifetime of the contract when awarded.
