This PIN relates to a provider engagement event only’.There are currently interim contracts in place for the services until January 2022, the contracts were extended in order to allow time for the services to be redesigned and procured.The procurement exercise is planned to commence in March 2021, with these timescales in mind both current and interested providers are invited to attend a virtual Provider Engagement Workshop on 26 November 2020 to discuss the future service model and options in relation to Bariatric Surgery and aftercare. There will be an opportunity to provide feedback within the session and this will then inform the final service specification, procurement and contract model.Services are being redesigned and procured for the population of Lancashire, Cumbria and Merseyside (3.6m). The current demand for bariatric surgery services for this population is approximately 20 referrals per month for surgery.
