Proposed replacement of timber windows and doors at Scoil na mBraithre, Mitchell Street, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.

Contractors are invited to tender for the replacement of the existing single glazed timber framed windows & doors in the old two-storey block (original CBS building of 200 SqM) with hardwood double glazed units in a sash arrangement. This building is a protected structure and so all works will be subject to the approval of Waterford County Council’s Conservation Officer. This will involve providing window & door samples in advance, co-ordinating work schedule with the Conservation Officer and attending various meetings and discussions during the course of the works with the Conservation Officer. These works generally include the careful removal of the existing windows & doors and the subsequent disposal, scaffolding, builders work, making-good any damage to reveals, painting & decoration, etc., associated with the replacement.Please note that all works are to be carried out in strict adherence with the Department of Education and Skills technical guidance documents and general specification for secondary schools, but specifically TGD 021-1a. It is paramount that the tendering Contractor is in a position to commence works on site immediately following appointment and has such resources available to meet the handover date of mid-August 2019.
