Provision of catering services.

Descriptions

The successful tenderer will be required to provide catering and hospitality services throughout the Trust's member schools. Currently these are at the following locations:— Ashton Park Secondary School (1 176 pupils, 142 staff),— Ashton Vale Primary School (193 pupils, 20 staff),— Compass Point, South Street School and Children's Centre (360 pupils, 27 staff),— Luckwell Primary School (202 pupils, 21 staff). The catering contract being offered will commence on 1.8.2015 for an initial period of 3 years, concluding on 31.8.2018, and will be offered on a guaranteed performance basis. The individual requirements of the 3 Primary Schools are deemed by the Trust to be equally important to those of the larger Secondary School and the successful tenderer is expected to have significant experience in catering for the dietary needs of all age groups. Please note that during the period of the contract the Trust may further expand and the provision of any additional catering requirements would be negotiated separately. The Trust's projected cost of catering for the current year is circa 243 000 GBP, including 6 000 GBP hospitality at Ashton Park Secondary School. The contract offered covers the scope for the provision of all catering services within the Trust's Schools, which currently includes breakfast club, morning break, lunch, all hospitality and free issue requirements. Free school meals (currently 297 eligible across all the Trust's Schools) and hospitality will be charged based on consumption and at net food cost. The Trust expects the successful contractor to enable the continued development of catering through the provision of an innovative, healthy food service, with fresh, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients being prepared on-site. The Trust expects the successful tenderer to evidence, through their bid, how they shall support and complement its Cooperative values:http://www.cooperativeschools.coop/about_us/values_and_principles/more_about_our_values_and_principlesThe Trust invites bidders to consider offers of Capital Investment, to assist in upgrading and/or harmonizing the current Gladstone cashless system, to enable effective reporting, alternatively providing an additional outside catering outlet at Ashton Park Secondary School, suitable for use by both pupils and for outside events.Separately the Trust would welcome proposals from the successful tenderer for a ‘profit share' partnership arrangement, to leverage the additional revenue opportunities from catering for significant events at the adjacent Ashton Court, e.g. The International Balloon Fiesta and from school lettings over the summer months. Heritage Lottery Funding has been requested to develop the Lower Lodge Gatehouse to hold licensed events, such as dinners and weddings. Should this lottery bid be successful these events would similarly be in scope of the separate profit share partnership agreement which shall be agreed with the successful tenderer.
