Provision of School Catering Services.

The successful tenderer will be required to provide catering services at South Wolverhampton & Bilston Academy.The contract covers the scope for the provision of all catering and vending services within the Academy, which also includes all hospitality and free issue requirements.It is expected that the successful contractor will be able to offer both innovation and a new food service offer which meets the needs of the pupils moving forwards into this contract term. The current range of foods needs to be expanded along with the service provision. It is expected that the successful contractor will utilise local supplies for fresh produce and be able to demonstrate full traceability of the local supply chain. The quality of food and choice and range of menu will be expected to increase with this approach.Currently an extension is being built to the restaurant to provide more dining space which in turn will allow more students to use the catering facilities at any time with addition of an additional service point ~ this will be completed and operational prior to the commencement of this contract.Training of all catering staff will be necessary to ensure that the same quality and variety of food offer is made at the Academy and that the same standards of operation are achieved.The successful contractor must be able to demonstrate a robust approach to student engagement to ensure student's views are captured and the service reviewed on a regular basis.The contracts currently operate on a subsidy. Free school meals and hospitality will be charged based on consumption and at net food cost.The contract being offered commences on 1.8.2015 and concludes on 31.7.2018 and will be on a guaranteed performance basis.
