This tender covers the scope of work for the initial phase of a five-year integrated programme of R&D on nuclear fuel recycle and waste management, to be completed by December 2018. The programme shall undertake research on Aqueous recycle processes as outlined in Section 4 ‘Research Requirements’ p.15 of the ITT, including:i. basic chemistry and technology for dissolution, separations and conversion stepsii. active separations tests on surrogate feedsiii. active dissolution tests on un-irradiated fuelsiv. a conversion flowsheet for transuranic (TRU) — containing productsv. a minor actinide separations flowsheet for high level wasteFor background information, the full specification and further information on this project please see the ITT.
