Ballyhoura Development employs a multi-disciplinary team of professionals including people with backgrounds in Administration, Rural Development, Social Inclusion, Tourism, Marketing, Community Development, Family Support and Childcare. As part of Ballyhoura Development’s aims of Community, Economic and Environmental Development staff facilitate a wide range of groups. Groups are typically made up of individuals and members of Local Community Groups/Social Enterprises and can be convened for one specific purpose (Community Socio Economic Environmental Planning or a Training Programme) or are members of an existing group who meet on an ongoing basis (Local Community Council, Women’s Group or Men’s Shed). Ballyhoura Development believes that facilitation is much more than teaching or listening and is more about enabling an open discussion, supporting all voices to be heard, building on existing knowledge and supporting effective decision making in a group context.
