Supply of Timber for Live Training

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service (HIWFRS) require the supply of timber to be used for live fire training exercises for firefighters. The timber is burned to simulate the conditions experienced during various fire situations.

The current arrangement is a single supplier contract under which HIWFRS purchase Oriented Strand Board Type 3 ("OSB3") cut to exact sizes designed to fit their training equipment. HIWFRS would be looking to replicate the current arrangement.

The demand for training is variable and therefore no guarantee of the volume of boards required can be given.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service (HIWFRS) intends to tender for the supply of timber for live fire training and is seeking to engage with the market to help shape the upcoming procurement. We reserve the right to amend or change all and any aspects discussed in this exercise if a decision to move to formal procurement is made. This early engagement exercise does not guarantee the tendering of any contract taking place.
