Descriptions
TfL will be going to the market for adhesion improver and lubrication sticks. Adhesion improver is a seasonal requirement applied during the leaf fall period in Autumn mostly. Adhesion improver increase purchase between running wheels and the rails in times where grip is low. Lube sticks are used year-round. The product is a dry lubricant that is transferred onto the wheel flange to provide lubrication to the wheel rail interface and controls the co-efficient of friction between the wheel flange and side of the rail (gauge face) and to check rails.
