Train Route Clearance Solution

Descriptions

The purpose of this periodic indicative notice (PIN) is to notify the supply market of Network Rail’s intention to potentially tender for a software solution with the capability to capture and provide route clearance data. The solution sought will provide track simulation data that will allow Network Rail’s engineers to simulate the running of trains on the rail network with the view of ensuring that the path of trains is clear from obstructions, such as for example, high bridge heights or other clearances on the train's path. Network Rail seeks to: — explore and understand the feasibility of the high level requirements that it has gathered so for; — test the market and gather some market intelligence to understand the different potential solutions that the market can offer.
