To provide a safe, cost effective framework for Imported Unlicensed Medicines – medicines originating into the UK which has marketing authorisation and is licensed in the country of origin but does not have a UK marketing authorisation. This framework will provide centralised quality assurance for these medicines to ensure they are assessed in a safe, consistent manner and reducing duplication of assessments currently undertaken by individual Trusts
