Descriptions
Aston is seeking to procure waste management services. To assist with the initial stages of planning, these services have been grouped into the following lots: 1. General Waste and Recycling: - General waste - Dry mixed recyclables - Paper/Carboard - Plastics - Wood - Metals - Food - Batteries - Bulbs - Aerosols/pressurised containers - Finishing products (including paint) - WEEE waste - Glass - Green Waste - Animal carcasses - Fridges/freezers 2. Hazardous, Chemical and Radioactive Waste - Chemical Waste (solvents, liquids and solids, including persistant organic pollutants) - Biohazardous waste (inc. materials related to the Human Tissue Act, genetically modified materials and animal related materials) - Various laboratory filters (ie, air and water filters). - Radioactive waste - Glass (laboratory) - Plastics (laboratory) - Hazardous Waste (outside of waste streams already specified) 3. Clinical and Pharmaceutical - Clinical waste - Sharps Please note, this scope is subject to change.
Engagement
Aston is beginning the pre-market engagement process in relation to it waste management requirements. These will either be packaged within an all inclusive contract, or split into several contracts. Aston is inviting responses to a formal Request For Information ('RFI') to obtain information from the market. This will help Aston to better understand the structure and capability of the market, as well as providing key insights that can be used to identify the most suitable route to market and ensure Aston's specification is fit for purpose.
