This procurement is being conducted by Taunton Deane Borough Council under the Restricted Procedure pursuant to Regulation 28 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 as amended (the 2015 Regulations). At the time of writing Taunton Deane Borough Council and West Somerset Council have received Secretary of State approval for the formation of a new Council from 1 April 2019 — any contract will novate to the newly formed Council to be named Somerset West and Taunton.The Council seeks to appoint a suitably accredited and demonstrably experienced Principal Contractor to undertake the design and construction of Coal Orchard Development under an NEC 3 Engineering and Construction Contract (Option A) with secondary options and z clauses as set out in the procurement documents.
