Digital Apprentice Pilot Scheme
Descriptions
Health Education England (the Commissioner) will be commencing a tender for the delivery of initiatives to design and deliver a regional 1-year pilot, which will create a recruitment model for getting learners into digital apprentice roles within the health and care sector. The purpose of the pilot is to determine the best route to recruit, select and appoint learners into vacant informatics roles within the health and care system and to establish a pipeline of talent for future development within the system. The pilot will demonstrate collaborative working across its region and gain consensus across the patch for a standardised approach to recruiting learners onto digital apprenticeships and establish the vendor qualification as the basic entry level qualification sought for the informatics career pathway. The fund is intended to encourage and support initiatives that will contribute to workforce development through education and training and we expect to be assessing applications from a wide range of organisations. The maximum amount an applicant may apply for will be GBP 350 000 inclusive of VAT. This prior information notice (PIN) is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioners intention. The virtual market engagement session is scheduled on the Wednesday 29 July 2020 from 11.00-13 p.m. This will provide an opportunity for potential providers to find out more about the aims of the tender and contracts, the process involved as well as network with others. HEE will use the opportunity to gather intelligence from providers which may influence the final tender. Please issue the RSVP by 24 July 2020 by 12.00 noon with the name, title and contact details for attendees (a maximum of two attendees per organisation) on the Pro-Contract system. The Commissioner reserves the right not to proceed with the procurement or any part thereof or change the requirements as necessary at any time.
