System for Multi-SC Qubit Measurements

Descriptions

The National Physical Laboratory [NPL] requirement is for a new system for metrology of circuits comprising multiple coupled superconducting qubits. The new system should include all the necessary baseband electronics (arbitrary waveform generators, digitisers, etc.) and optionally also relevant microwave components (local oscillators, etc.) for controlling and reading out at least five superconducting qubits. It should be possible to control all components using a common software interface. The system must be designed so that it is highly customisable and can be easily expanded in the future. It should include the possibility to implement control and feedback (e.g. active reset) via user-programmable FPGA logic and be delivered with all necessary software for doing so.
