Descriptions
The scope of the investigation for the project comprises of: — shallow holes/pits to varying depth 0.15m, 1.0m, 2.0m; — SPT tests soil are to be carried out in all boreholes to confirm engineering rock (SPT 80); — laboratory and in situ tests are to be carried out on samples for the rock characterization; — 1 no. permanent wells are to be installed from which the groundwater level will be monitored/sampled starting from the pre-construction phase. The design of the well shall be the responsibility of the Environmental Scientist employed by Sellafield Ltd.
